Known as one of the most delicate tea varieties found, White tea is minimally processed. Before the tea leaves open fully, they are harvested when the young buds are still covered by the fine silvery Pubescent, hence the name ‘white’ tea. This unfermented tea is the top leaves of Camellia Sinensis, the newest growth which is handpicked quickly and meticulously dried, so the leaves are not allowed to oxidize, after which the leaves are plucked for green/black tea production. This minimal processing and low oxidation results in its freshness. The sweet gentle flavour is as refreshing as its aroma. Pick it up before it flies off the shelf!
